Audi A6 TDI: Power and Blow-By Test

The vehicle used in the test was a former taxi with 400,000 km (250,000 miles) on the odometer and which had been ECU-tuned 1.5 years earlier. Before the RVS treatment, the engine had exhibited a slow but inevitable loss of power. The test was conducted in Denmark.

Main test results:

• Power increased by 18.6 hp (15.3%) and torque by 20.6 Nm = 15.2 lb-ft (7.3%)

• Average blow-by decreased by 2–4%

• Fuel consumption decreased by 2–3%

• Owner’s comment after the test: “It was as if the engine had been tuned a second time.”
