BBC Sealand

The Bockstiegel shipping company, headquartered in Emden, Germany, tested RVS products on the vessel BBC Sealand. The vessel’s problem was high oil consumption, which had been identified as being caused by carbon buildup in the cylinders.

Sealand’s seven-cylinder, four-stroke 4,235 kW MAN B&W engine was treated with RVS products while the vessel was sailing from Dampier, Australia, to Jakarta, Indonesia, during the period 11–15 August 2004.

Main test results

  • Daily oil consumption decreased by 30%
